The Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Sarasota, Florida

If you're spending time in Sarasota, Florida, whether as a resident or a visitor, you'll want to make time to enjoy some of Florida’s world-famous sunsets along the gulf coast.

5 of the Best Sunset Spots in Sarasota, Florida

1. Lido Beach Park

One of the most pristine beaches in the area, Lido Beach Park is right down the road from the Lido Key resorts. Despite this, it's a relatively uncrowded spot with gentle waves and white sands, this is a wonderful place to spread a blanket and enjoy the sunset in an unhurried and low-key manner.

With plenty of parking and concessions available, Lido Beach is a good choice to spend the entire day near the water, too.

2. Perspective Rooftop Bar

As the name indicates, Perspective Rooftop Bar offers signature cocktails, bottle service, and a light food menu. Take in the sunset as it falls through the high rises of downtown Sarasota and stay for a taste of the city’s tremendous nightlife filled with food, drinks, and plenty of entertainment.

3. Waterfront Dining at Marina Jack

At Marina Jack, you can enjoy waterfront dining at its best. The Marina Jack dining room is open daily. Along with an award-winning wine list and exceptional menu options, this location will afford you stunning views of the sun setting over the Intracoastal waterway.

Although Mariana Jack does seat walk-ins, your best chance at snagging a good table at the right time to catch the sunset involves making reservations.

4. Siesta Key

Siesta Key is a world-famous beachside destination that has everything you could ever dream of to do from grabbing food and drinks in the village to lazy days on the white sand Siesta Beach. It’s also one of the most popular places to catch the sunset in Sarasota because it’s truly one of the best beaches in the world.

After the sun falls below the horizon, be sure to stick around to see the famous drum circle and enjoy the vibrant nightlife all across the key.

5. Ernest "Doc" and Eloise Werlin Park

Just adjacent to Ringling Bridge is the Ernest "Doc" and Eloise Werlin Park. This is both a convenient and a scenic spot from which you can view nightly Sarasota sunsets.

Parking is limited, so you won't want to wait until the last minute to arrive. In fact, if you're so inclined, you can arrive early and make a day of it by fishing off the pier, exploring downtown Sarasota, taking a walk through the bayfront park and marina, or by walking the bridge across the Sarasota Bay to Lido Key.

But, be sure to time it right so that you're atop the winding Ringling Bridge at sunset for an unforgettable view of the sunset and the city.
