SARASOTA, Fla. (Nov. 11, 2014) – The new Girona model, a three-bedroom single-family villa in The Founders Club, creates a sense of place with its luxury beach-inspired interior design and a floor plan emphasizing connection to outdoor spaces overlooking the Sarasota community’s Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course, lake and nature preserves.
Recently completed by London Bay Homes and now open for viewing, the fully furnished model home features light, sun-bleached wood floors throughout its 3,526 square feet of interior living space, beadboard backsplashes in the kitchen, and rustic beamed ceilings in several rooms.
The Girona offers a formal dining room, study, home office and great room, as well as a breakfast nook, three full baths and a powder room.
The model’s interior design by Romanza Interior Design blends transitional and contemporary elements and features a palette of sands and grays with subtle greens and rusts. Its open floor plan and hand-finished hickory wood plank floor are introduced inside the single iron-and-glass arched door. The foyer flows into the adjoining dining room and continues to the great room, where sliding glass doors open to the home’s outdoor areas, pool and spa.
Features in the dining room include a two-tiered black iron chandelier above a round table with six chairs upholstered in ivory and gray. Three windows topped by square transoms provide natural light.
The great room intermingles light and warm walnut brown wood tones with modern and eclectic furniture styles, including two curved benches, a coffee-colored leather chair, and two armchairs upholstered in stripes. Three niches accent the room’s main wall, the center offering a weathered-wood console under a wall-mounted flat TV and glass display shelves in narrower recesses on each side.
The kitchen has cream-toned cabinetry with paneled doors, rubbed edges for an aged look, and Carrara countertops with a leather finish. Beadboard backsplashes nod to the cottage ambience, while the stove’s handmade tile backsplash adds a hint of shine.
Appliances in the kitchen include a stainless steel 48-inch Wolf range, Sub-Zero side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, and microwave oven. Its freestanding island, painted gray, offers a double sink and dishwasher, a trio of linen-hued upholstered barstools, and lantern pendant lighting above. Gray accents the wood paneled stove hood.
Located right off the kitchen are the home office and walk-in pantry.
The nook features a rustic wood table under a black iron chandelier and encircled by upholstered chairs and woven wicker host and hostess chairs.
Arches frame the views from the outdoor living area to the pool and spa. The al fresco spaces offer woven dining and conversation groupings and a full summer kitchen with a commercial-grade grill.
The study also features light wood tones in the desk and TV credenza, a rustic look blended with the modern curves of a chaise chair and leather desk chair accented with nail-head trim.
The wood floor continues into the master bedroom, which incorporates the model’s main colors and features medium-toned wood furniture, an upholstered headboard and a tray ceiling with iron chandelier. A door with sidelights leads to a trellised patio.
The suite offers his-and-her walk-in closets, and its bathroom features light-stained vanities with polished Sicilian mocha-hued limestone tops, and crystal and metal light fixtures. Her vanity incorporates a dressing table. The bathroom has a travertine floor, a freestanding English Victoria + Albert volcanic stone and resin tub set in a windowed alcove, and a travertine-clad walk-in shower.
Pale blue walls of one of the model’s guestrooms provide a backdrop for subdued gray and citrus stripes appearing in a bolster pillow and bench fabrics. The queen-size bed has an upholstered headboard with nail-head trim and quilted duvet.
A second bedroom offers two twin beds and shades of pale green, coral and sand.
The Girona, shown with a three-car garage and 5,072 total square feet, is priced at $1,968,600, furnished.
The floor plan is one of more than 15 offered by London Bay Homes at The Founders Club, Sarasota’s traditional golf and social club community.
