The Founders Club is in the process of expanding its driving range, increasing the 22-tee course by 10 tees to make room for the growing number of golfers setting their tee times at the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course.
Chris Adams, The Founders Club’s head golf professional, says that they are making the range wider and deeper with more areas for members and guests to use on the practice end and the teaching end. This will be the second advancement made to the course this season; The Founders Club just finished replacing the traditional Bermuda grass with sprigs of Florida-friendly Celebration, a deep blue-green Bermuda species repeatedly named the top turf for wear tolerance and recovery and drought resistance.
The driving range expansion will enhance The Founders Club’s practice and training facilities, which also include two putting greens, a short game area and state-of-the-art TrackMan radar technology offered through the Florida Golf Performance Center. At The Founders Golf and Social Club, membership is limited to just 275 members, allowing the golf community to enjoy year-round golf with no tee time required. Golfers can also take advantage of the fact that The Founders Club has Sarasota’s only traditional caddie program.
After their stimulating round of golf on our Robert Trent Jones, Jr golf course, members can dine at the main dining room, bar and grille, outdoor verandah, or private dining room of the 24,000-square-foot Golf Hall, which overlooks an oak hammock and the 18th hole. The facility also has a professionally staffed and fully stocked golf pro shop, state-of-the-art fitness center, and men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges.
If you’re not a golfer, but want to be, you can always get a tip from our resident pro before heading out to the greens.
