Written by TFC Marketing | February 24, 2012

Sarasota, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2012) –The second annual Model Home Showcase and Charity Challenge is now underway at The Founders Club, the luxury, private golf community east of I-75 on Fruitville Road. Now through April 1, visitors can tour three of London Bay Homes’ newly decorated models, while supporting one of three local non-profit organizations: Humane Society of Sarasota County, Sarasota Orchestra and the Florida Suncoast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 1,500 visitors and raised nearly $5,000 for the three charities that participated. The Humane Society of Sarasota County garnered the most ticket sales and received an additional donation from London Bay Homes. As the winning charity, they were asked to participate again this year.

“We’re excited to welcome back the Humane Society, as well as add two new organizations to this year’s Charity Challenge,” said Gina Watters, event coordinator, London Bay Homes. “We look forward to building on the success of last year’s event and helping raise money for three worthy organizations that play such a major role in our community.”

Tickets for this year’s tour are $5 per person (kids are free) and all proceeds will be donated to the charity of their choice. At the end of the eight-week charity challenge, London Bay Homes will again provide additional funds to the charity that has the most ticket sales. The homes may be viewed Monday - Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The three showcase models on tour – the Laurel, Traviata and Isabella – represent selections from the London Bay’s Cottage and Fairway homes series. Among these homes, many standard features include a three-car garage, energy-efficient design, impact-resistant doors and windows, cement tile roofs, ceramic tile flooring, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, structured wiring and security systems.

The Laurel is a 2,438 sq. ft. maintenance-free Cottage Home with three bedrooms, three baths and a den. The home features a spacious great room design and a large lanai to accommodate outdoor living. Exterior, pool and landscape maintenance is provided through the neighborhood association.

The Isabella is a 2,879 sq. ft. Fairway Home with three bedrooms, three baths, den and formal dining room. It also features a great room floor plan and includes a large master suite that opens onto the home’s outdoor living areas.

The Traviata is one of the larger Fairway series homes with more than 4,000 sq. ft. under air and 5,600 sq. ft. of total area. The four-bedroom, four and one-half bath home features large sliding doors that open the family and living rooms out to the lanai and summer kitchen.

The Founders Club, which sits on 700 acres, includes a Tom Fazio-designed golf course with caddie program and a golf lodge that provides fine and casual dining, fitness and tennis facilities. The community also features an outdoor sports area with basketball and sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilion, and miles of brick paved walking and bike paths over 100 acres of lakes and wetlands.

Home sites at The Founders Club are priced from $129,000 to almost $1 million and London Bay’s available floor plans provide buyers with a wide range of structural and design options that can be customized to suit their individual lifestyle.

London Bay Homes builds luxury homes priced from the $500s to more than $5 million in seven luxury communities from Naples to Sarasota. It also builds custom homes, ranging up to $10 million, on individual sites in many of the region’s most exclusive communities, on beachfront property, and in downtown districts. In addition, London Bay operates remodeling and interior design divisions and was named America’s Best Builder in 2008.
