London Bay Homes begins construction on a new model in The Founders Club

Written by TFC Marketing | February 10, 2014

London Bay Homes has started construction on the Girona, a new furnished model home in The Founders Club, Sarasota’s premier golf and social club community.

Inspired by the model’s Spanish architecture, the home will have a terra cotta tile barrel roof, rustic brick paver walkway and an intimate, landscaped entry courtyard featuring a fountain. The model will feature interiors by Michael Scott of Romanza Interior Design and is expected to be completed in May 2014.

The three-bedroom Girona offers 3,526 square feet of air-conditioned living space, a dining room, great room and study as well as three full baths and a powder room. The model will be shown with a pool and spa, full summer kitchen with a commercial-grade grill, and a three-car garage, bringing it to a total of 5,072 square feet.

Elegant Leonardo travertine floors will welcome guests at the entryway and continue throughout the main living areas and onto the pool deck. Sliding glass doors in the family room and nook, and a French door in the master suite, connect the interiors to alfresco spaces.

For the beamed great room, Scott selected an eclectic mix of transitional furniture with warm walnut brown tones and contemporary upholstery with medium-toned fabrics and leathers. A natural sisal area rug will anchor the main seating area, and floral draperies were selected to echo the room’s sand, rust, green and grey hues.

The kitchen will offer a 48-inch stainless steel Wolf range, Sub-Zero beverage center and refrigerator, a walk-in pantry and a freestanding island. Carrara countertops with a unique leather finish, light-toned wood cabinetry and handmade tile backsplash above the range add to the kitchen’s luxury look.

The floor and furniture plans provide numerous gathering areas, accommodating four at the kitchen’s island breakfast bar, eight to 10 people at the dining room table and another six at the nook’s round table. Additional gathering spaces include the outdoor living areas and even the study, designed with a small sectional for late-night TV viewing.

The Girona’s architectural influences will be referenced in the master suite, with a mission-style four-poster bed featuring an upholstered headboard with bronze accents. Walls in a clay hue, blonde woven raffia bedside chests and a sisal area rug will introduce elements of nature, also echoed in shades of sea green, blue and sand. A hand-finished hickory wood plank floor will add warmth to the room and continue into his-and-her custom walk-in closets.

The English Victoria + Albert volcanic stone and resin tub, set in a windowed alcove, will serve as the focal point of the master bath, which will have travertine floors, light wood stained vanities with polished Sicilian mocha-hued limestone tops, transitional crystal and metal light fixtures, and a travertine-clad walk-in shower.

The Girona’s two guest suites have private full baths; one has a walk-in closet. One will offer a queen-sized bed and transitional design with a teal, rust and sand color palette. The second room will have two twin beds and shades of pale green, coral and sand.

The Girona is one of more than 20 floor plans offered by London Bay in The Founders Club, which is conveniently located within minutes of Florida’s cultural coast, including Sarasota’s world-famous Gulf of Mexico beaches, shops, acclaimed local restaurants, and arts and cultural venues of downtown Sarasota.

A traditional private golf and social club community, The Founders Club’s amenities are designed to foster camaraderie among residents and a connection with nature. Miles of winding boardwalks and paved walkways meander throughout the community, which is punctuated by palm trees, pines and moss-covered oaks.

The member-owned Founders Golf and Social Club offers 18 holes of championship golf by Robert Trent Jones Jr., with the area’s only traditional caddie program. Golfers are allowed to walk the course, and membership is limited to just 275 to ensure members enjoy year-round golf with no tee time required.

The 24,000-square-foot Golf Hall, overlooking an oak hammock and the 18th hole, offers a main dining room, bar and grille, outdoor verandah and private dining room for casual and fine dining. The facility also has a professionally staffed and fully stocked golf pro shop, state-of-the-art fitness center and men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges.

The club offers a vibrant, active social calendar and recently introduced an in-season reciprocal partnership with Sarasota Yacht Club.

Additional facilities at The Founders Club include two Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, and a picnic pavilion. Fitness and wellness classes, educational and instructional programs and social gatherings are coordinated by a professional staff.
