The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce (SKCC) partners with new home communities every year for the Annual Siesta Key Chamber Golf Tournament. During this tournament, golfers can play the course for the day, which is a big deal considering these courses are typically open to members only. On May 4, 2015, the SKCC chose to partner with The Founders Club again (the tournament was also held at The Founders Club in 2013) for the 16th annual golf tournament, meaning golfers were able to spend the day on the signature Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course. After a day on the green, guests were also treated to a fresh and delicious dinner prepared by the club’s executive chef, Mark Traugutt.
If the tease of the course wasn’t enough or you’ve never played the course before and would like to know more, you can always contact The Founders Golf and Social Club for a membership. The club is currently offering two membership incentives: a seasonal summer trial membership and an equity membership. The summer trial offers full use of the club’s facilities from May 1 to October 31, 2015 for an entry fee of $1,000. The equity member can join by paying the initial contribution and annual dues, but won’t have to pay another dime until October 2016, meaning the club will waive six months of membership fees.
Members of The Founders Golf and Social Club get to take advantage of year-round golf with no tee time required and Sarasota’s only traditional caddie program. The signature Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course was recently updated from the traditional Bermuda grass to sprigs of Florida-friendly Celebration, a deep blue-green Bermuda species repeatedly named the top turf for wear tolerance and recovery and drought resistance. The driving range was also recently expanded to include 10 new tees at the now 32-tee range. Overall, the driving range was made wider and deeper with more areas for members and guests to use on the practice end and the teaching end, further enhancing The Founders Club’s practice and training facilities. The Founders Club’s practice and training facilities consists of two putting greens, a short game area, and state-of-the-art TrackMan radar technology through the Florida Golf Performance Center. Chris Adams, The Founders Club’s head golf professional, is also available to assist members and residents with their game, utilizing his more than 14 years’ experience in the field.
